Not being a fan of buffet style dining, I was so impressed with the food that I'll be back. The atmosphere is stereotypical 80s cafeteria with a few TVs to keep everyone up on the news while we ate. FYI, this is NOT a good idea for digestion.Despite it being a "Help yourself" buffet, the wait staff was very helpful, quick to clean tables attentive for refills! The fact it was so dated, cluttered, yet very clean, it worked well with the great home style food. It's like visiting someone's grandma's house.Still, I'll be watchful when I return because it's still a buffet.
The food was off the chain. We went on Friday - fried fish and shrimp was fried exactly as it should be. Has a great variety of vegetables, salad bar, dessert. A great variety - even for a vegan. Was so good we went back in our way back home. We were traveling and stopped going and coming. Will definitely go back!
Great food, great staff and service. Only issue was the crowd. Went on a Sunday, people fresh from church packed in there with horrible manners. Standing at the buffet getting elbowed and shoved over some fried chicken was crazy. People acting like they’re never going to see food again! Never going back on a Sunday again.
Visited for the first time today (Friday). Two hot item were grits and greens. Everything else on Buffett at best was room temperature. Waitress brought drink and never came back until we were finished eating. For the price I would have expected better. First visit and last visit all in one day.
This restaurant is a down to earth place to eat whether you are alone or with family. The staff are friendly and im not sure if they are family or not but it seems that way. The food looks and tastes like its homemade not junk from a can or bucket. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a country style buffet. I will definitely be back and I will bring the family.
Always a great place to eat! My grandson and I always love to go there when we go to Douglas.
The food was very fresh and I appreciated that they have plastic gloves for customers if they like to use them to handle the utensils at the buffet.
Words cannot do the Covered Wagon Buffet justice. Everything was just scrumptious and the waiting staff was amazingly on point. I would eat here everyday if I could! They have everything you could ever want on the buffet, from salad to dessert, there's something for everyone. I highly recommend you try it!
The food is allways great. Lots of variety. I missed the fried catfish today but everything else was good. I like that they have some sugar free dessert options.
